About the Journal
GVU Journal of Humanities is a peer-reviewed publication of the College of Humanities at Glorious Vision University (formerly Samuel Adegboyega University), Ogwa, Edo State, Nigeria. It provides a platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various humanities disciplines to share their innovative ideas, theories, and insights.
The journal publishes original, peer-reviewed articles that enhance the understanding of human culture, history, language, literature, philosophy, religion, and related fields. It encourages interdisciplinary approaches, fostering connections between different areas of humanities research.
GVU Journal of Humanities is available in both print and electronic formats as an Open Access publication. It is indexed in Google Scholar and each article assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for easy referencing.

The GVU Journal of Humanities, a peer-reviewed academic journal of the College of Humanities, Glorious Vision University (formerly Samuel Adegboyega University), Ogwa, Edo State, is pleased to invite scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit original manuscripts for its December 2025 edition (Volume 8, Number 1).
The journal welcomes high-quality articles in all areas of the Humanities, including but not limited to:
Languages, Linguistics, Literature, Music, Performing Arts, History, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Fine Arts, Cultural Studies, and related disciplines.
GVU Journal of Humanities is a bi-annual, interdisciplinary journal that publishes scholarly works reflecting on contemporary human society, with emphasis on research, development, and practical application in the Humanities.
The journal is published in both print and electronic formats and operates as an Open Access publication. It is indexed in Google Scholar, and each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure proper citation and global visibility.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
Manuscripts must be written in English, with clear arguments and high grammatical accuracy.
Submissions should be double-spaced, typed on A4 paper, using Times New Roman, font size 12.
Articles should not exceed 15 pages, including abstract and references.
All manuscripts must conform to MLA or APA (6th or 7th edition) referencing styles.
References should be arranged alphabetically and placed at the end of the manuscript.
Authors are advised to ensure that all citations are complete, accurate, and consistent.
Manuscripts must be submitted only in Microsoft Word format.
Articles that meet the journal’s standards will be subjected to peer review and published upon acceptance.
Assessment Fee: ₦5,000
(This fee must be paid immediately upon submission of the manuscript.)
Publication Fee: ₦25,000
(Payable only after the article has been accepted for publication.)
